CHELSEA GRANGER
What does a ghost look like? What about a spirit? How do we contemplate god? How do we honor the dead? How do we say thank you for our days and our blessings? Can a painting offer protection? Can a painting be a prayer?
These are some of the questions Chelsea Granger asked herself as she created the body of work for her first solo exhibit at Northern Daughters, The Future Belongs to Ghosts. Granger writes “The work of this show offers art as a praise song. These paintings are a way to give thanks, to sing hallelujah. They are a container to thank the gods for water, plants, fish, and my car. They are part of a quest to find god, and multiple dimensions, in everything.” Read the full press release here.
